Dr. Shalyn Bliss is from El Reno, OK. She attended Redlands Community College on a judging scholarship before transferring to Oklahoma State University. She graduated from Oklahoma State with both her Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. She served on the OSU Spirit Rider team, was vice president of the HorsemanŐs Association and Miss Rodeo Oklahoma 1998. During veterinary school, Dr. Bliss was the OSU student chapter president of American Association of Equine Practitioners, coordinator of the neonatal foal team, 1st place student case presentation winner at Phi Zeta Research Day and was a CVM Ambassador. Following graduation, Dr. Bliss completed a one year equine theriogenology internship at Performance Equine Associates under the mentorship of Dr. David Hartman.
Dr. Bliss is currently an associate veterinarian at Performance Equine working exclusively in our reproductive service. She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Society for Theriogenology. Her areas of professional interest include equine embryo transfer, low-dose insemination, stallion fertility, stud & broodmare management and neonatology.
