Veterinary Internship
Performance Equine Associates offers 3 rotating hospital internships and 1 dedicated theriogenology internship each year with a starting date of July 1. The program is designed for the veterinary intern to rotate through the different services of the clinic, providing mentoring and formal training in equine veterinary medicine. Interns are responsible for in house patient care, daily treatments, assisting with outpatient appointments, assisting in surgery, dental and medical procedures, and initiating treatment of all emergencies. The internship is designed to provide a level of post graduate training that will allow them to be proficient in a private practice setting or to continue on to a residency program. Additional opportunities can be made available to interns expressing interest in specific aspects of equine veterinary medicine. All interns rotate emergency duty 24 hours a day. Interns are provided with a competitive salary, paid housing, health insurance, and professional liability insurance.
