Reproduction Service

Performance Equine Associates offers routine and specialized reproductive services both at the hospital and at area breeding farms. The hospital facility is equipped with separate broodmare and stallion barns, as well as a stallion collecting area, palpation stocks, and a complete specialized reproduction laboratory. Performance Equine Associates also has an on-site herd of recipient mares for its busy embryo transfer program. Reproduction services are performed under the supervision of Dr. David Hartman, with assistance by Drs. Tom Scott and Kate Joos. Specialized services offered include embryo transfer, management of fertility disease in the mare and stallion, fresh and frozen semen handling and processing, and oocyte transfer. Performance Equine Associates also stands several privately owned stallions to the public.
